English Saying Thank and Responses in Class X semester I

THANKING

Practice saying thank you and the responses below based on these expressions.

Thanking 
- Thank you.
- Thanks a lot.
- Many thanks.
- Thank you very much.
Responses
- You're welcome.
- Not, at all.
- It's my pleasure.
- Don't mention it.

Example of saying, Thank you : 
- I appreciate your kindness.
- Thank you for your kindness.
- i am the most grateful to you for ...
- Thank you very much....the dinner, the gift, the invitation, .... etc.
- How very kind of you.
- I'd like to express my deep gratitude to you .... etc.

Other responses :  - I'm glad you like it.
                                - The pleasure is mine.
                                - That's all right.
                                   Etc.

Simple Dialogues:
Seya   :  More coffee, Harry?
Harry  : No, Thank you. Actually it's time for us to be going.
Yeni    : Yes, I think we should leave now. I have an early class tomorrow.
Harry  : Well, thank you so much for the lovely evening and the delicious dinner.
Save   : I'm glad you liked it.

Greeting and Saying Goodbye 

Practise ''saying hello''. say it loudly

Formal Greetings and Responding:
- Good morning.
- Good afternoon.
- Good evening.
- Hello, how are you?
etc
- Hello.
- Hello, good afternoon.
- Good evening.
- I'm fine thankyou
etc

Informal Greetings and Responding:
- morning.
- hi, how are you?
- what's news?
- How's everything?
- How's business?
- Good to see you.
etc
- Terrific/ Great and you?
- Just fine thanks.
- all right thanks
- Pretty well. What about you?
etc.

Read the information given.
Greeting is a kind of question or statement to begin a conversation. The greetings depend on the situation.
Example of formal greetings:
  1. We say ''Good morning''  when we meet someone early in the morning between 1 a.m. to 12 a.m. in the middle of the day.
  2. We say ''Good day''  when we meet someone in the middle of the day at around 12 a.m.
  3. We say ''Good afternoon'' when we meet someone in the afternoon between 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  4. We say ''Good evening'' when we meet someone in the evening at around PM to 11 p.m.
Besides saying  Good morning, Good afternoon or Good evening,  we can also greeting someone with informal greetings like : 
  • How's everything with you?
  • Good to see you again,
  • How's life?Etc.
We can say the informal greetings to  someone that we have already known before  informal greeting can be said at any time of the day.
